The College provides members with hundreds of free recordings to assist you with professional development. You can filter and search for recordings of interest, plus “like” recordings so you can find them easily in the future.
All the recordings are designed to help you meet the requirements of paramedic registration, so they automatically include self reflection, and when completed they are added to your learning record in the CPD Tracker.
Non-members can view a small selection of recordings for free (try before you buy), view all other recordings at a cost, or simply join to access all the content for free. Learn about Membership here.
This recorded webinar addresses current cardiology evidence-based practice and case reviews.
This event focusses on exploring the approaches to cardiac care in the paramedic and out of hospital environment.
This webinar is the next instalment in our advanced cardiology series and will shift the focus from re-entry arrhythmias to focal arrythmias. In this webinar, we cover everything you need to know about this type of tachyarrhythmia including relevant pathophysiology and ECG interpretation.
Supraventricular tachycardia is commonly caused by re-entry arrhythmias. In this webinar, Mitchell Cowan from Cardiac Physiology in Practice reviews the re-entry circuit mechanism and discusses the pathophysiology of atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia, atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia, and discusses how these arrhythmias can be identified on the ECG. Mitchell provides an overview of the ablation procedure and explains how each of these re-entry circuits can be targeted for radiofrequency ablation for the long-term management of these arrhythmias.
The ins-and-outs of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), HP-CPR and working with the ECMO team on road. Complete with a practical demonstration and case examples.
This webinar will cover everything you need to know about pacemakers, including exploring the types of pacemakers used and a look at indications for each.
In Part 2 we are building on the knowledge gained from part 1 of our ECG CPD/Workshop. In this next instalment we will delve a little deeper to build on those skills and introduce the more challenging conditions that should be much easier to understand and interpret, with a great interactive quiz to finish.
In Part 1 of our ECG CPD/Workshop we will roll back to the basic components of a rhythm strips and 12 lead ECG’s, applying context and setting default recognition habits in order to confidently comment on AV Blocks, Bundle branches, and Axis deviation.
Real cardiac cases from SA will be discussed and reviewed. This will be led by Dr Peter Sage (Interventional Cardiologist).
