The College supports the future of paramedicine by providing research related opportunities to foster and build the research capacity of the profession and disseminate evidence-based knowledge to inform policy and practitioners.
In this program, we provide practical training in reviewing manuscripts with a mentor. You will complete a series of online courses made available by the Web of Science Academy and then proceed to co-reviewing published papers and “live” submissions with your mentor and editors of the Journal. This program is suited to people in any role seeking to engage in peer review for the first time or who are already reviewing but seeking to reflect and further develop their capacity.
The College Research Committee is pleased to present bi-monthly ‘Talking Research’ Webinars live online. Sessions are a combination of research education sessions, author interviews, and research discussions.
Each webinar explores a different topic to enhance member knowledge and understanding of research and its value to the paramedic profession. Guest authors will discuss their research and offer audience members an opportunity to ask questions of their own.
Talking Research dates for 2024 are:
March 20: Mastering the art of successful grant writing
June 5: Research Agenda for Australasian Paramedicine
August 21: Navigating research hurdles
November 6: TBA
We’re excited to launch our new Talking Research podcast series. Hosted by leaders in the research field, each episode will discuss relevant topics for novice and experienced researchers. Episodes will be released in conjunction with our Talking Research webinar series.
The College seeks to promote engagement with research through its Paramedic Research Mentoring Program.
Run over 9 months, the program provides registered paramedics who do not have any formal research training with an opportunity to learn about research from experienced paramedic researchers.
Expressions of interest open late 2024.
The College is committed to the promotion, dissemination and effective translation of research into practice. The College prides itself on assisting paramedic researchers of all levels by promoting research participation opportunities to its members where suitable and appropriate to do so
The College Research Advisory Committee invites you to view current supported research participation opportunities or get in touch with us if you are considering using the College member base as a potential source for participants.

The first round of the Australasian Paramedicine Workforce Survey for paramedics and paramedic students has been conducted across Australasia. The data collected through this multi-year research has not previously been collected in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand and will allow us to defer to evidence about the profession when representing the profession in various fora and when advocating to government and stakeholders.
