In an operational environment:

  • Provide leadership and management of people and systems to deliver operational performance and outcomes in line with Ambulance Tasmania (AT) standards and expectations.
  • Support the health and wellbeing of team members by reviewing practices and developing and implementing organisational mental health and wellbeing strategies in conjunction with HR and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage team members with a focus on enabling a culture of high performance through positive mentoring and provision and support of personal development.
  • Take the lead in providing operational planning across the spectrum of specific tactical plans, emergency plans and business continuity plans for the Director.
  • Model and uphold positive workplace behaviours and monitor and ensure compliance with organisational Values and the Code of Conduct at all levels.
  • Monitor and continuously improve systems of operational performance management and feedback.
  • Act as the delegate for the Director as required.

You will need:

  • Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service and relevant work experience with an additional qualification in management or equivalent
  • Current Driver Licence

The Team:

Lead and manage a fast paced, dynamic team in the Communication Centre within Ambulance Tasmania. You will use your expertise to review existing practices and develop and implement organisational strategies in collaboration with People and Culture and other key stakeholders.

Lead operational, emergency and business continuity planning, and monitor and support the improvement of systems and operational performance.

The work is rewarding and plays a key role in supporting our paramedics and first responders in providing care, comfort and treatment to Tasmanian communities every single day.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$146,161 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2019

Allowances:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
  • Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service and relevant work experience with an additional qualification in management or equivalent
  • Current Driver Licence
