ProMedical is the only fully-equipped emergency medical response team in Vanuatu. To continue to grow, they need your help to strengthen training and mentoring of Ni-Vanuatu students. ProMedical is committed to providing reliable and affordable pre-hospital emergency medical services to the community, and strives to surpass industry standard response times and levels of care. ProMedical is well-established and respected within the local community.

The key focus of your role will be to assist in the training and mentoring of local staff. This will include assisting ProMedical with in-house training and working on road alongside the students to improve response services, community training programs and partnerships between local medical facilities.

The work with ProMedical will help to reduce reliance on international support and directly contribute to a self-sufficient, high quality ambulance service for Vanuatu. ProMedical aims to achieve this within the next three to five years with support of partners, especially AVP. Your role will also include assisting ProMedical with COVID-19 readiness and responses, as required. You will have a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Paramedic), Paramedic Science or equilivant, a Current Paramedic registration with Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), minimum 6 months post qualification/ATP working full time with an emergency ambulance service in Australia or NZ and a Manual driver’s license.

ProMedical can accept an assignment placement from 3 to 24 months but preferably 12 months or over. Please note that there are several compliance requirements and sign off’s required for this position before commencement so you will need to be flexible and understanding throughout the process.

ALS Paramedic/Clinical Educator - (Port Vila)

The Port Vila branch, where you’ll be based, is well-established and respected within the local community.

This will include delivering ProMedical in-house training materials and supporting enrolled student paramedics and working on road alongside the student paramedic as their clinical instructor you will also collaborate with staff to improve response services, community training programs and partnerships between local medical facilities.

The work with ProMedical will help to reduce reliance on international support and directly contribute to a self-sufficient, high quality ambulance service for Vanuatu. ProMedical aims to achieve this within the next three to five years with support of partners especially AVP.
