Aotearoa New Zealand paramedicine scholarship opportunities available


nzparamedic.org in conjunction with Tait Contel Trust is pleased to announce scholarships for Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) and Post Graduate study in Health Science at Certificate or Diploma levels.

Scholarships to a total value of $34,000 will be awarded for study commencing in 2025/26 subject to the standard terms and conditions set out in the link below.

To be eligible for these scholarships you must be:


  • Working in Aotearoa New Zealand's paramedicine sector in either a Paid or Volunteer role, and
  • Enrolled in year 2 or year 3 of a Degree course or in a Post Graduate programme in Semester 2-2025 or Semester 1-2026.

Priority will be given to those who


  • Increase the cultural diversity of the ambulance sector
  • Have the desire to further share their knowledge with others
  • Are studying in the field of community paramedicine
  • Improve the advancement of community and emergency paramedical practice
  • Are actual or aspiring high achievers

Assessment panel


Applications will be assessed by a Panel of Assessors and their recommendations approved by the nzparamedic.org Board of Trustees. Dependent on the quality of applications the panel will recommend making awards towards the cost of study course fees. Priority will be given to applicants working in Canterbury. Applicants may be eligible to receive more than a single grant. The total of all grants will not exceed the $34,000 donated from Tait.
