They are looking for someone who has Authority to Practise at the level of Critical Care Paramedic (ICP RSI) or Intensive Care Paramedic or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our high-performing rescue helicopter flight team at all of our Bases - Christchurch, Nelson and Greymouth.
You will need to have excellent self-motivation and discipline as well as be flexible and adaptive.
This is a demanding role and not for the faint-hearted so you will be fit, healthy and able to cope with the pressure of the role and of the required training as well as meet the minimum medical qualification requirements.
You will also be required to assist the pilot in command with ensuring that the EMS aircraft is ready for any mission 24 hours a day/7 days a week which involves a range of duties including the cleaning of the aircraft inside and out.
During flight you will assist with navigation, NVG operations, clearances, safety, liaison with other emergency services and to operate the winch. In addition to this you will offer medical support and assistance to patients and support to relatives.
You will be patient, resilient and extremely confident with good sense of humour.
