Job Opportunity: Clinical Education Officer - Australasian College of Paramedicine


About the role


Are you passionate about digital education with a knack for creating engaging online learning experiences? We're looking for a Clinical Education Officer to join our remote team at the Australasian College of Paramedicine. This full-time role (32 hours across 4 days) is ideal for someone with strong eLearning development skills and established professional networks across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand who's ready to lead the creation of innovative digital learning resources for paramedics.


This role focuses primarily on developing interactive eLearning courses using contemporary authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite) and managing our Learning Management System (LMS). You'll work with subject matter experts from diverse jurisdictions to create accessible, evidence-based clinical education that reflects best practice across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. This is a hands-on technical role in a purpose-driven, values-based organisation, with occasional travel for face-to-face events and workshop delivery.


A critical aspect of this role is leveraging your professional networks to engage clinical leaders and educators from across both countries, particularly from Aotearoa New Zealand, Queensland, and smaller jurisdictions currently underrepresented in our content development.


What you'll be doing


  • Develop and maintain interactive eLearning courses and digital learning resources using Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and LMS platforms
  • Manage LMS functionality including course publishing, user experience optimisation, reporting, and technical troubleshooting
  • Leverage professional networks across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to identify and engage subject matter experts from diverse jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with the Education Manager and subject matter experts to design engaging, accessible learning experiences grounded in adult education theory
  • Maintain and enhance existing eLearning resources as part of continuous quality improvement
  • Analyse learning engagement data using LMS analytics to improve educational effectiveness
  • Occasionally design and deliver face-to-face workshops and support webinar delivery
  • Ensure all content reflects evidence-based practice across multiple paramedicine service models
  • Travel occasionally across Australia and/or Aotearoa New Zealand for workshop delivery and stakeholder engagement

Role detail


This is a full-time role (32 hours across 4 days) offered initially on 12 month contract with opportunity to extend.


The College has a remote-based, work from home workforce, meaning the Clinical Education Officer will work from their own home office and can be based in any location in east coast Australia (QLD, VIC, NSW) or Aotearoa New Zealand.


What we're looking for


Essential:


  • Current paramedic registration without restrictions (conditions, undertakings or reprimands) with a minimum of 4 years full time experience
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical education experience
  • Education teaching qualification such as Certificate IV TAE or university qualification in education or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) in designing, developing and delivering eLearning using contemporary authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), including hands-on experience with LMS administration, course publishing, and analytics
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple Australian jurisdictions and/or Aotearoa New Zealand paramedicine services, with established professional networks in these regions. Understanding of diverse service delivery models beyond a single jurisdiction
  • Proven ability to develop clinical education, assessments and online learning resources that advance paramedic knowledge and skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Sound understanding of adult learning strategies and educational theories applied to digital learning design
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, remote-based team
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented
  • Permanent work rights in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand with no restrictions

Highly Desirable:


  • Paramedic Specialist (ICP, ECP or CCP) qualification and experience
  • Direct clinical or education experience in Aotearoa New Zealand paramedicine services
  • Professional networks with clinical leaders and educators in Aotearoa New Zealand, Queensland, and smaller states / services
  • Advanced proficiency in video editing, graphic design, and multimedia production
  • Experience with educational data analytics and using LMS reporting to improve learning outcomes
  • Understanding of accessibility requirements and inclusive design principles in digital learning
  • Experience working in remote teams or working in a not-for-profit membership environment
