Paramedicine journal

Paramedicine is the official journal of the Australasian College of Paramedicine. This peer-reviewed journal provides an international forum for the dissemination and discussion of paramedicine research.

Peer Review Mentoring Program

IIn this program, we provide practical training in reviewing manuscripts with a mentor. You will complete a series of online courses made available by the Web of Science Academy and then proceed to co-reviewing published papers and “live” submissions with your mentor and editors of the Journal. This program is suited to people in any role seeking to engage in peer review for the first time or who are already reviewing but seeking to reflect and further develop their capacity.

Research Connect

The College is establishing a Research Network to connect paramedicine researchers and promote collaboration.

To support paramedicine researchers, the College is developing an international registry: a comprehensive, user-friendly directory designed to strengthen research connections and build the profession’s research capacity.

Talking Research

Podcasts

The College Research Committee is pleased to present regular 30-minute ‘Talking Research’ podcasts. Hosted by leaders in the research field, the Talking Research episodes will discuss relevant topics for novice and experienced researchers. The series will conclude with a panel discussion, bringing all our speakers together to address key questions raised throughout their research. Use the button below to submit your questions.

Each episode will be available as a podcast on your favourite listening platform and as a vid-cast on the College website.

Webinars

Access the College’s Talking Research recorded webinars. Sessions are a combination of research education sessions, author interviews, and research discussions.

Each recorded webinar explores a different topic to enhance member knowledge and understanding of research and its value to the paramedic profession.

Research Mentoring Program

The College seeks to promote engagement with research through its Paramedic Research Mentoring Program (PRMP).

Run over nine months, the program provides registered paramedics who do not have any formal research training with an opportunity to learn about research from experienced paramedic researchers.

Expressions of interest for the 2026 PRMP will open in October 2025.

Research participation and dissemination

The College is committed to the promotion, dissemination and effective translation of research into practice. The College prides itself on assisting paramedic researchers of all levels by promoting research participation opportunities to its members where suitable and appropriate to do so

The College Research Advisory Committee invites you to view current supported research participation opportunities or get in touch with us if you are considering using the College member base as a potential source for participants.

Australasian Paramedicine Workforce Survey

The Australasian Paramedicine Workforce Survey is a high-impact three-year study commissioned by the Australasian College of Paramedicine which explores the demographic, career trajectory, work motivations and conditions for those working in clinical, management and educational capacities within the paramedicine workforce, including student paramedics. Rounds one and two have now been completed, with round three to commence at the end of 2025.

The study is conducted in a partnership with Western Sydney University (WSU), Edith Cowan University (ECU) and Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
