Research participation opportunity: Exploring unwell mental health consumers in the community

Paramedics continue to see significant changes in clinical practice as our profession transitions from the historical pre-hospital treat and transfer model of care to an integrated mobile health service. In 2019-2020 Australian ambulance services reported approximately 460,000 interactions with mental health consumers, resulting in 321,000 transports to an emergency department.

This study explores the lived experience of paramedics attending the unwell mental health consumer living in the community.
