Paramedics’ knowledge, preparedness and experiences of managing SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 in the Australian healthcare settings: A multidisciplinary cross-sectional study
Dear Australasian College of Paramedicine Members,
Health professionals are critical to the containment and response to outbreaks of infectious diseases. The ongoing COVID-19 outbreak has once again highlighted the crucial role of Paramedics in managing the health and wellbeing of the Australian population.
We would like to invite you to take part in a multidisciplinary cross-sectional research study aiming to explore the Paramedics’ knowledge, preparedness and experiences of managing SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 in Australian healthcare settings. You have received this communication because you are a Paramedic with a current membership to the Australasian College of Paramedicine.
Your participation is entirely voluntary. The survey comprises of four sections and will take approximately ten minutes to complete. Submitting your completed questionnaire is an indication of your consent to participate in the study. All responses are anonymous and there will not be any information obtained in connection with this research project that can identify you. All collected information will remain confidential and will only be accessed by the investigators.
This study is being led by Professor Ramon Z. Shaban (University of Sydney and Western Sydney Local Health District) with his paramedicine colleagues Adjunct A/Professor Dominic Morgan, A/Professor Tony Walker, Mrs Alaine Burgess and Dr Hamish Carver, together with a team of infectious diseases and infection prevention and control researchers.
