Research opportunity: Personal characteristics that relate to posttraumatic growth (PTG)

Calling all Australian paramedics for an exciting research opportunity

The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) invites Australian paramedics -interns, experienced parmedics and retired officers - to participate in a longitudinal research project for a Doctor of Philosophy program entitled:

‘Personal characteristics that relate to posttraumatic growth (PTG) in Australian paramedics’

This an exciting research opportunity to explore how paramedics comprehend, manage and find deeper meaning in stressful events.

Benefits from this research will be significant for the field of PTG and paramedicine. Outcomes may help identify paramedics at risk of posttraumatic stress and to retain paramedics in the work place. This research will be beneficial to paramedics, organisations and the communities they serve.

Your involvement:

You are invited to complete online questionnaires, five times (six weeks apart, over 30 weeks). After the final questionnaire, you can enter into a prize draw for a chance to win a portable pulse oximeter.

Some participants will have the opportunity to be involved in a qualitative interview relating to your experience as a paramedic. If you participate in an interview you can enter into a prize draw for a 3M Littmann Cardiology IV Stethoscope. This study will be trialling audio diaries between questionnaires.
