Paramedics invited to take part in University of Sydney palliative care study

The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health is inviting paramedics to take part in a “Palliative Paramedicine: A Qualitative Study of Health Professionals” study that is examining the role of paramedics in the provision of palliative and end-of-life care in the community.

Interviews will be conducted with health professionals, families and carers involved in the care of palliative patients who, towards the end of their lives, have come into contact with paramedics in the community.

Paramedics of any qualification level who are actively working on-road, with experience in caring for palliative care patients and their families/carers in the community, are eligible to take part. Participation involves completing a short demographic questionnaire and an interview (a maximum of 45 minutes). All participants will receive a copy of the preliminary findings. The study has HREC approval from the University of Sydney.

If you’d like to take part, email Madeleine Juhrmann, the PhD candidate who will be conducting the interviews, at mjuh9730@uni.sydney.edu.au.
