The Australasian College of Paramedicine signs MoU with the College of Paramedics (UK)

Today, we are delighted to announce that the Australasian College of Paramedicine and the College of Paramedics (UK) have entered into a landmark agreement to work together in order to advance the paramedic profession by learning from, and providing support to one another in the pursuit of excellent, evidence-based paramedic practice. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by John Bruning, Chief Executive Officer of the Australasian College of Paramedicine and Tracy Nicholls, Chief Executive of the College of Paramedics.

Under this MoU, collaboration between the two organisations will focus on exchanging expertise and information relating to paramedic practice at a global level. The agreement will also ensure a collective approach to promoting research, education and continuing professional development within the paramedic profession, which in turn will further enhance the patient care provided by paramedics.

John Bruning, CEO of the Australasian College of Paramedicine, said: “The paramedic profession in the UK and Australia/ New Zealand is remarkably similar. This leads to a natural synergy between both colleges in the way we advocate for, support and progress paramedic practice in our countries. We are excited to collaborate and share ideas across paramedic education, research, support and advocacy, and learn from each other’s strengths to enhance the outcomes both colleges deliver for our members and the profession as a whole.”

Tracy Nicholls, CEO of the College of Paramedics, said: “This MoU marks a new chapter for both colleges and one which will benefit paramedics across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.  We have worked with our counterparts in Australasia for several years and this arrangement extends and formalises those already excellent relationships and exchange of ideas and information.”
