COVID-19 and Students
The College understands student members are currently facing an uncertain future with their studies severely disrupted as universities try to shift to a non-contact model of teaching. In addition, some ambulance services are withdrawing support for student placements. On top of this we are aware students are also facing job losses as many of you are working in the hospitality and food & beverage industries that have been badly affected.
AHPRA is working with government and education providers to look at ways of supporting students through this crisis in order to ensure their eligibility to register. AHPRA is also investigating means of fast-track return to registration for those who have recently left the profession. This information is included in the their communique - click here
The College will be communicating with AHPRA, universities and jurisdictional services about these issues and is formulating a plan to support students during this challenging time.
