We are excited to announce the keynote speakers and presenters for the Australasian College of Paramedicine International Conference, ACPIC25. This year’s event will take place in Brisbane from 10–12 September, featuring a diverse line-up of speakers, sharing their highly regarded expertise and experience across a broad range of engaging topics.
The theme of ACPIC25 is Foundations to Future: Advancing Paramedicine.
Shell Piercy is the Chief Paramedic Officer for the Northern Territory, only the second person, and second woman, to hold this role in Australasia. With a career spanning paramedicine, nursing, and leadership roles across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally, she specialises in rural and remote healthcare, trauma, and disaster medicine. Shell is passionate about patient-centred care and workforce development.
Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM is Queensland’s first quadriplegic medical intern and a leading doctor, lawyer, researcher, and disability advocate. He works in emergency care at Gold Coast University Hospital, lectures at Griffith University, and researches spinal cord injury. A 2021 Queensland Australian of the Year, Dinesh uses his experience to advocate for inclusion and equitable healthcare.
Michelle Crilly is a proud Yorta Yorta woman, paramedic, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program Lead at Ambulance Victoria. Starting as a cadet and progressing to Advanced Life Support Paramedic, Michelle is dedicated to creating culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and staff.
Cam Rota is a healthcare leader and Chief Pilot with a background in emergency ambulance and aviation. He manages volunteer support at Hato Hone St John and leads Māori health equity initiatives, working closely with iwi and communities. Cam is known for promoting culturally responsive care and regularly speaks at national forums.
