Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council


The newly appointed NZ Paramedic Council met in July and released the paramedic scopes of practice for NZ in the following three areas: scopes of practice, prescribed qualifications and fees.

Scopes of practice: The scopes of practice describe the services that a registered paramedic is able to undertake and at the same time are sufficiently broad and enabling to ensure the scope is future focused.

Draft qualifications: The draft qualifications described the required qualifications to meet registration as a paramedic.
