Kua tae ki te wā whakahou i tō Tiwhikete Whakawaiwai Ā-Tau│It's time to renew your Practising Certificate

The Practising Certificate renewal period for 2025 – 2026 has opened. You will need to let Te Kaunihera know your practising intentions for the period 1 Āperira | April 2025 - 31 Māehe | March 2026.

Apply for a practicing certificate

If you are intending to practise as a paramedic between 1 Āperira | April 2025 - 31 Māehe | March 2026 (even just for one day), you will need to apply for a practising certificate.

You can do this by logging into your MyPMC account and selecting the 'Apply for 2025-2026 Practicing Certificate' button. If you do not see the button, please contact Te Kaunihera on (04) 381 9080. Please double check you are applying for a practising certificate for the correct year (1 Āperira | April 2025 - 31 Māehe | March 2026).

Apply for a non-practicing status

If you are taking a break from practice or working outside of Aotearoa New Zealand after 31 Māehe | March 2025, you will need to complete the non-practising form. You can apply for a practising certificate at a later date if you wish to return to practice.

Once you have logged in to your MyPMC account, click the 'Apply for a non-practising status' button and complete the form.

Apply to cancel your registration

If you are retiring (or retired) or you are no longer practising as a paramedic, you can request to cancel your registration permanently. If you want to return to practice in future, you will need to apply for restoration to the register. However, in general, we recommend you apply for a non-practising status if you have doubts about your practising intention.

To cancel your registration, log into your MyPMC account, click the 'Apply to cancel my registration' button, and complete the form. We will then contact you to confirm you no longer wish to practise.

If you have any pātai | questions or would like further guidance with your application, please contact 04 381 9080.
