What is the NDIS?
Wednesday, 1st of July 2020, 15:00 AEST
The National Disability Insurance Scheme, otherwise known as the NDIS, is the new way of providing disability support. The NDIS will provide around 500,000 Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live a better life. The NDIS will help people with disability to achieve their goals which may include greater independence, community involvement, employment and improved wellbeing. The NDIS also provides people with disability, their family and carers with information and referrals to support services in their community and other mainstream services. This presentation will focus on the health interface including the role of paramedics.
