Paediatrics Webinar Series

The College is excited to announce a series of paediatric online modules for its members. This series will include four interactive workshops delivered by experts from Medicine, Paramedicine, and Nursing.

These sessions will cover topics raised by members to improve their care of the complex paediatric patient, including skill refreshers on uncommon skills such as Intraosseous access.

Each webinar will include specialist guest speakers and will be hosted by veteran College presenter & NSW Ambulance Paramedic, Dr Alexander Cardenas.

Session Two: Child in Crises - Advanced Paediatric Resuscitation Core Principles and Application

Following a very successful Session 1 that focused on respiratory conditions, Session 2 of the module will continue to utilise the highly interactive menti-meter webinar methodology to provide you with relevant and practical tips and tricks for the management of critically ill paediatrics. The session will apply unique paediatric physiology to pre-hospital settings and be hosted by Dr Alexander Cardenas with guest speaker Dr Cassandra Brown.

Building on lessons learned from session one, session two will focus on application of critical assessment, treatment and referral decisions required by paramedics in managing the critical patient. Referencing best practice protocols and skills from national Paediatric Resuscitation Standards, this is a must see any on-road paramedic.

Guest Speaker: Dr Cassandra Brown, Chief Resident Medical Officer, Westmead Children’s Hospital
