Presented by Terry Savage A review of the speaker’s experience of burnout and resilience during 24 years in peer support, and the methods he has adopted to cope with stressful events. The presentation will encourage participants to reflect on how they might employ stress management practices in their own lives.

Biography:

Terry’s career as a paramedic spans 36 years, starting in Hurtsville in 1981 and graduating as an Intensive Care Paramedic in 1984. Terry has worked in metro, rural and remote stations, as a flight paramedic, rescue officer, station officer, duty operations manager, venue commander at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and volunteered with emergency medical teams in natural disasters in the Philippines and Solomon Islands.
