This webinar will provide an overview of snakebites and snakebite management in Australia.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify the main Australian venomous snakes
  • Identify signs and symptoms of envenomation
  • Manage a suspected/confirmed snakebite
  • Understand What happens in hospital.

This webinar is specifically targeted towards those working in low acuity and patient transport, but more experienced clinicians may find it a useful refresher.

Presented by: Dan O’Brien

Dan O’Brien is a practicing registered paramedic and a Clinical Education Officer with the Australasian College of Paramedicine. Dan has experience in clinical and management roles in ambulance as well as undertaking a secondment in patient safety with Children’s Health Queensland. Dan has an interest in primary care/community paramedicine as well as ensuring patients receive safe and high quality care.
