Supraventricular tachycardia is commonly caused by re-entry arrhythmias. In this webinar, Mitchell Cowan from Cardiac Physiology in Practice reviews the re-entry circuit mechanism and discusses the pathophysiology of atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia, atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia, and discusses how these arrhythmias can be identified on the ECG. Mitchell provides an overview of the ablation procedure and explains how each of these re-entry circuits can be targeted for radiofrequency ablation for the long-term management of these arrhythmias.

Presenter: Mitchell Cowan
Mitch formerly served as the Senior Cardiac Physiologist at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia, where he trained in electrophysiology and cardiac devices. With a Graduate Diploma of Electrophysiology from CEPIA and certifications in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac devices from IBHRE, he now sits on the CEPS exam writing committee for IBHRE. Mitchell also works with a 3D electroanatomical mapping company in a clinical role, performing EP procedures every day.
Committed and passionate about contributing to the field of electrophysiology, Mitch is an active participant in medical education and research. He frequently supports medical registrar training programs such as the HEART course and CSANZ education days. He serves as a guest lecturer for the local health district, Professionals in Cardiac Science Australia, and Western Sydney University, and is a regular speaker at conferences, both nationally and internationally.
