This webinar will provide an overview of the primary and secondary surveys in the setting of trauma, including the components of each survey and the clinical rationale for these components.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify the key components of the Primary Survey.
  • Identify key components of the Secondary Survey.

This webinar is specifically targeted towards those working in low acuity and patient transport, but more experienced clinicians may find it a useful refresher.

Presented by: Dan O’Brien

Dan O’Brien is a practicing registered paramedic and a Clinical Education Officer with the Australasian College of Paramedicine. Dan has experience in clinical and management roles in ambulance as well as undertaking a secondment in patient safety with Children’s Health Queensland. Dan has an interest in primary care/community paramedicine as well as ensuring patients receive safe and high quality care.
