Paramedic Care of LGBTQIA+ Persons

About

Facilitated by Aidan Baron ( @aLittlemedic ) LGBTQIA+ Patients often face multiple barriers accessing care, they can be a higher risk population and as paramedics and emergency healthcare providers, we are often the first point of contact for many of these patients in crisis - whether related to their diverse genders or sexualities, or because, like all people, sometimes we face medical emergencies.

Learn about the biomedical model of care for Trans+ healthcare interventions, learn to use the right language, create trust, and re-engineer policy, paperwork and systems to give these patients a better healthcare experience.

This discussion has a particular focus on paediatric patients.
