This is a recording from the Interactive CPD Symposium 2025 which hosted many presentations on a large array of topics. This session was hosted by Philip Gadd. He discusses emergencies related to diving and how paramedics can best treat them.

Biography: Philip Gadd

Phil joined the Queensland Ambulance Service as a Diploma student in 2011 after previous roles in the Australian Army and the security industry. He has worked in various areas across Southeast Queensland and performed several roles including Clinical Deployment Supervisor, Clinical Support Officer, Senior Operations Supervisor and Operations Centre Manager. Phil holds a Bachelor of Paramedicine from the University of Tasmania and a Masters of Critical Care Paramedicine from Edith Cowan University and currently works as a Critical Care Paramedic on the Gold Coast. Phil loves spending time in the ocean and is a keen sailor and scuba diver. He started diving in 2002 with his PADI Open Water course and has since completed several courses including becoming a PADI Divemaster. He lives on the Gold Coast with his wife, two daughters and two miniature dachshunds.
