Presented by Dr Sharon Anne McAuley The stressful, dynamic role of a paramedic can make for a challenging work environment. Medical errors and adverse events can occur. Clinical excellence is dependent on a reliable, resilient healthcare system that captures clinical incidences when the patient's management did not go as planned. Lessons should be learned in a non-blameworthy culture. This talk will establish why paramedics should have a clear understanding of the critical importance of Patient Safety & Quality in order to deliver safe, reliable, patient-centred care. The concepts of Clinician Disclosure, Open Disclosure and 2nd Victims will be explored.
