How to deal with the tyranny of distance – Prolonged Casualty Care in Australia. This session will provide a brief history and overview of Prolonged Casualty Care and how we can utilise this practice to continue to provide care to patients when definitive care is delayed or non-existent in remote settings in Australia.

Biography: Nicole Foster

Nicole Foster is a registered paramedic with a Master's in Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. She has contributed to the 'NATO Special Operations Combat Medic Remote and Austere Medicine Field Guide for Practitioners' and specialises in remote and austere environments. Nicole has worked in various settings, including jurisdictional ambulance services, offshore vessels, exploration sites, NGOs, and as an external contractor with the military. Nicole currently works with the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine as their Undergraduate Lead.
