Compassion

About

Emma Bywater presents on Compassion: “People won’t remember what you said or did, but how you made them feel.”

Pre-hospital medicine is rapidly expanding - but at the center of all our clinical research, improved technology and medical advances, remain our patients. There is an understanding that compassion is a key component in providing high quality patient centered care. However, with compassion fatigue increasingly recognized as a real threat to our healthcare workforce, how can we maintain human connection and compassionate care, without compromising our own wellbeing?

Presented by Emma Bywater

Emma Bywater is an ALS paramedic and clinical instructor with Ambulance Victoria. She is a facilitator of internal CPD programs, and an educator at Monash University. Emma is a strong believer in patient-centred, respectful and compassionate care.
