Presented by Dr Natalie Fonda
This presentation explores how communication breakdown in the primary health setting has the potential to negatively impact patient outcomes. It does so via a worked case study that illustrates complexities in patient management, with particular emphasis on the interface between paramedics and GP’s. Problems explored relate to accessibility of documentation across the disciplines, referrals and help out-of-hours, the scope of practice of paramedics, and the role of the GP as a Gatekeeper.
