Australasian College of Paramedicine International Conference (ACPIC25)
ACPIC 2025 delivered a wide range of clinical and research sessions from experts and leaders in paramedicine. Hosted in Brisbane (September 2025) the program was designed to inspire, educate and broaden horizons.
Conference theme: Foundations to future: Advancing paramedicine
Translating delphi-derived advanced practice paramedic capabilities into regulation, education and practice
As Advanced Practice Paramedic (APP) roles expand in Australia, clear national standards are essential. This study employed a modified Delphi method to achieve expert consensus on APP capabilities, resulting in 33 capabilities across Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education, and Research. This presentation explores how these findings can be operationalised across regulation, education, and practice. Outcomes include improved role clarity, informed accreditation standards, enhanced curriculum design, and strengthened clinical governance. Translating these capabilities into actionable frameworks supports the structured integration of APPs into healthcare systems and ensures consistency, accountability, and future adaptability.
