From one extreme to another – managing yourself and your patients in the extremes of temperature

This session will focus on the recognition and management of patients presenting with heat and cold related illnesses. Participants will be guided through a series of case-based talk through scenarios that highlight the physiology of human response to extremes of temperature, the clinical management of affected patients and the necessary steps required for paramedics to operate safely in these environments. This session is suitable to paramedic students of all levels who have an interest in the effect of our environment on patient presentations.
