Understanding paramedic conveyance decision-making

In the past few decades, both the paramedic profession and the community needs have evolved significantly, and conveyance decisions are becoming increasingly important to paramedic practice. This research investigated how paramedics navigate conveyance decisions using constructivist grounded theory. This research constructed the theoretical framework titled, the tensions of organisational culture and professionalisation, with three themes constructed.

Biography: Dr Alannah Morrison

Alannah has 15 years of experience as a paramedic enjoying working across various communities. Alannah is also an experienced academic and more recently overseeing graduate and entry-to-practice education for a jurisdictional ambulance service, focusing on contemporary education models for complex working environments. Alannah completed her PhD investigating paramedic decision-making and exploring the progression of professionalisation of the profession and ambulance work culture.
