Experiences of Graduates Paramedics Working in the Private Sector

The presentation explores the experiences of graduates who transitioned to practice with private paramedic employers. While transition to paramedic practice research exists, it focuses mainly on graduates working for state-based or jurisdictional ambulance services. The findings from this qualitative study highlight positives and negatives about working for private employers. Of note, graduates felt unprepared by universities for private sector work. This study fills a gap in the growing body of knowledge around transition to paramedic practice.
