In this presentation, Shayna will discuss her undergraduate study on the prevalence of Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus in non-emergency ambulances.

Shayna will discuss how healthcare acquired infections (HAI) are the most common adverse event in healthcare and how surface cleanliness closely associated with incidence of HAI. Shayna focuses on her primary research question "What is the prevalence of MRSA in a fleet of non-emergency ambulances?"

Biography: Shayna King is an undergraduate paramedicine student in her final year at Western Sydney University. Shayna is a participant in the Western Sydney University Undergraduate Paramedicine Student Research Engagement Academy, known as ‘UPSTREAM’. She is presenting on behalf of her UPSTREAM undergraduate research team.
