Penetrating Trauma - is this one for real?

This talk will analyse the prehospital assessment and management of penetrating trauma including the accuracy of clinical wound examination, the evidence base behind current treatment strategies and the interface between prehospital and in-hospital care.

Presented by: Dr. John Glasheen (Ambulance Medical Officer High Acuity Response Unit Queensland Ambulance Service )

John is an emergency doctor with extensive experience in prehospital and retrieval medicine. He is currently part of the Queensland Ambulance Service High Acuity Response Unit based in Brisbane. Prior to studying medicine he was a paramedic in Ireland and has worked in aeromedical retrieval at Sydney HEMS and LifeFlight in Queensland. He has a research background in emergency airway management and is interested in clinical governance and critical care education.
