STUCON 2021 is an in-depth student conference that focuses on clinical best practice, education and research.
Aimed at undergraduate paramedic students, the conference offered an insight into current and emerging knowledge from across the globe. Speakers included a mix of students, researchers, educators and industry practitioners for a truly enlightening experience. STUCON 2021 was an online conference, hosted in July 2021.
Laying the roadmap for your clinical career
This session will provide an overview of tips, tricks and lessons learned (sometimes the hard way) for planning your future paramedic and health career. Starting with developing a career plan, the session will also start discussions around job interviews, job applications and how to stand out from the applicant crowd. The session will be followed up by future webinar’s forstudent members targeting each of these areas in detail.
Biography: Dr Alex Cardenas
Dr Alexander Cardenas has had a broad career across Ambulance and Health and currently holds a PhD in clinical education and change. Alex started as a Paramedic in Sydney, before completing his double masters in Public Health and Health Management to become a paramedic educator. He then transitioned into a management career working as a service planner, program director, and healthcare consultant. Alex is currently consulting for Health Infrastructure, leading a major change and capability portfolio that forms part of a wider $10B infrastructure program.
