The Rural Outback and Remote Paramedic Conference is a two-day event, designed specifically for paramedics and allied health professionals working in rural, outback and remote locations.

Point of care ultrasound for Paramedics

Dave will provide an overview of the role of point of care ultrasound, with an emphasis on the benefits to Paramedic practice. He will then provide a demonstration of POCUS scanning techniques, including E-FAST and lung ultrasound, using live models.

Biography: Dave Tingey

Dave has been a Paramedic for 30 years, and is currently a critical care Retrieval Paramedic with SAAS MedSTAR, SA's medical retrieval service. He has a passion for education and is a lecturer on ICP and aeromedical post-graduate programs. His previous roles include Rescue Paramedic, Special Operations Team Leader, and MedSTAR Clinical Manager. He has deployed overseas as part of the Australian Medical Assistance Team. When not working he enjoys camping and kayaking with his family.
