Clinical psychologist Associate Professor James Courtney shines a light on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

This webinar will focus on PTSD and complex PTSD in the context of first responders and paramedics specifically. The diagnostic frameworks for both disorders will be explained, followed by an exploration of the lived experience of individuals impacted by trauma. Management options and interventions will then be discussed.

Presenter: Associate Professor James Courtney

Biography: James is a clinical psychologist and academic who has worked across private and public settings, and as a consultant to government and industry. James is the director of the Turner Clinics at Monash University and focuses on the clinical management of trauma related mental health disorders in first responders. His research interests encompass PTSD, Sleep, and the impact of shiftwork.
