Biographies
Andrew Plews
Andrew trained as a doctor in the UK and worked as a staff grade anaesthetist which included obstetric anaesthesia. Arriving in Australia in 2021, Andrew worked with CareFlight and gained valuable experience in retrieval medicine and obstetrics. Andrew and his colleagues would like to share with you some of what they have learned through hypothetical case based presentation and evidence based medicine.
Philip Keane
UK trained staff grade anaesthetist who has worked with CareFlight since February 2022. Experience with obstetric anaesthesia and retrieval.
Victoria Higgins
Victoria is senior CareFlight Flight Nurse and Midwife. She has a Masters in midwifery with specific studies in advanced neonatal care. She has a Graduate Certification in aeromedical retrieval with particular focus on paediatric/neonatal retrieval. Prior to aeromedical retrieval she has worked in emergency medicine, midwifery and NICU for over 20yrs.
