Trauma on the Border 2018

The talk will be a narrative pertaining to the Grenfell Tower Fire in Kensington, London June 2018. This occurred during a recent sabbatical where Dr Ryan was working as an Honorary Consultant for London’s Air Ambulance (London HEMS). Dr Ryan was the on-scene Medical Adviser (Medical Commander).

The presentation will provide an overview of the incident, some of the complexities associated with managing this incident and Dr Ryan’s perspective on some of the key learning that has arisen for him.

Dr Ryan has been actively involved in establishing the PAH’s Trauma Activation System, Red Blanket pathway and has been a previous chair of the Trauma Review Committee.

Dr Ryan is a Senior Emergency Physician at PAH’s Department of Emergency Medicine and runs the Department’s Trauma portfolio and is involved in the Department’s Disaster portfolio.
