Australian Emergency Management Arrangements and Response to a Public Health Emergency

In this webinar the focus will be on emergency management and the foundations underpinning an ambulance service’s response. An overview of emergency management will be provided as well as a definition of an ‘emergency.’ Australian emergency management arrangements will be discussed. The current Pandemic will be used to draw examples of the strategic and tactical preparation needed to respond to an ongoing emergency.

About the Presenter David lectures in emergency management, law & ethics as well as a paramedical practice. David works as a Paramedic with St John Ambulance (NT) and performs competency assessments for AHPRA under S80 of the Legislation. David has previously worked in NSW and Northern Ireland in roles including operational planning and emergency management. David has a specialist interest in mass gatherings, and prehospital resuscitation and is completing a PhD
