Following on from previous updates on the Australasian Journal of Paramedicine (AJP), the College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Paul Simpson as interim AJP Editor-in-Chief and Chair of the newly formed Journal Advisory Committee.
Many of you will know Paul as an active member of the College and academia, as well as Chair of the College’s Research Committee, where he has played a vital role in progressing our research activities. Paul brings considerable knowledge and understanding of paramedicine research and is well placed to take on the dual role of AJP Editor-in-Chief and Chair of the Journal Advisory Committee.
Joining Paul on the Journal Advisory Committee is:
• Dr Kelly-Ann Bowles (Monash University, Australia)
• Dr Belinda Flanagan (University of Sunshine Coast, Australia)
• Dr Alexander Olaussen (Monash University, Australia)
• Dr David Fitzpatrick (Sterling University, United Kingdom)
The Committee is tasked with:
• Oversight of the AJP and finalising the current submissions
• Consideration of, and recommendation on, whether to rebrand the existing journal or develop a completely new journal
• Identification and development of best practice governance structures and processes to ensure appropriate robust journal management
• Investigating potential journal partners
• Editorial Board recruitment and appointment recommendations
The Journal Advisory Committee will now progress these objectives, and we will keep you informed as further information becomes available on the development of the new College journal.
