Friday 16 October 2020 is Restart a Heart Day. This international initiative is facilitated in Australasia by The Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA). It aims to raise awareness in the community on the poor statistics around out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, the importance of knowing CPR and how to use an AED in the case of a cardiac arrest.
Each year Ambulance Services across Australasia spend time in the community educating the public on CPR and AED use. This year, due to COVID-19, the CAA has team up with its member services to live stream Restart a Heart Day to ensure everyone, regardless of their location, can join in and learn how to save a life.
From 10.30am – 2.30pm AEDT on Friday, the live streaming event will feature four hours of education, survivor stories, interview with experts, CPD and AED training sessions every hour and even a kids corner featuring Greg Page (the original yellow Wiggle).
