Paramedic Registration - Facts and Figures


As we enter the second year of national registration for paramedics, we're taking a look at some facts and figures about our registered paramedics. This information had been provided by Professor Stephen Gough, Chair of the Paramedicine Board of Australia.

Some highlights:

  • Over 18,200 applications for registration received
  • 17,992 paramedics registered as at 30 September 2019
  • 85% of registered paramedics work for an ambulance service
  • Victoria has the most registered paramedics, with 29%, followed by NSW with 25%
