Dr Dan Bodnar
Dan is a Brisbane based Emergency Physician. His work life between the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, the Queensland Ambulance Service and the Queensland Children's Hospital. In his down time, he is a human crash test dummy for his 4 daughters who practice their latest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu submissions on him
Julie Hughes
Julie Hughes is a Critical Care Paramedic currently working in Brisbane’s High Acuity Response Unit joining the QAS in 2002 after a 10 year career as a staff/senior radiographer at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Stationed predominantly in the Brisbane metropolitan area she has also done terms in rural / single officer stations, as a Flight Paramedic, Officer in Charge, Clinical Support Officer and is a sessional tutor at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Julie has a special interest in the critically ill patient and prehospital ultrasound.
Dr Glenn Ryan
Dr Ryan is a Senior Emergency Physician at PAH’s Department of Emergency Medicine and runs the Department’s Trauma portfolio and is involved in the Department’s Disaster portfolio. He is also a Pre-hospital physician with the Queensland Ambulance Service. Particular interests include trauma management and pre-hospital care. Dr Ryan has also worked as a Pre-hospital Clinical Fellow with London’s Air Ambulance (London HEMS) in 2012-13 and has just returned to the PAH after 2 months with London’s Air Ambulance as an honorary consultant. Dr Ryan has been actively involved in establishing the PAH’s Trauma Activation System, Red Blanket pathway and has been a previous chair of the Trauma Review Committee.
Christian Harch
Christian Harch is a Critical Care Paramedic with around 15 years pre-hospital experience. He is passionate about Paramedic education, health and communication. His online educational resource Paramedic Project focuses on the specific requirements of paramedics as students and health professionals. He is currently employed by the Queensland Ambulance Service in metropolitan Brisbane.
Dr Katherine Isoardi
Katherine is an Emergency Physician and Clinical Toxicologist based in brisbane. She is Acting Medical Director of the QLD Poisons INformation Centre as well as the Princess Alexandra Hospital Clinical Toxicology UNit. She also holds a VMO appointment with the NSW Poisons Information Centre. Katherine’s research interest include the management of patients with recreational drug intoxication and toxicological antidotes. She is an investigator for the Australian Toxicology Monitoring Study (ATOM) that looks at the effects of various drugs in overdose. She also runs the Toxicology Teaching Program at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is a tutor for the Postgraduate Masters in Toxicology through the University of Colombo.
Steve Whitfield
Steve is an Australian based paramedic, paramedic educator and paramedic lecturer with experience working in state ambulance, humanitarian operations, aeromedical / flight, and exploratory expeditions. His research interest in austere medicine has taken him to the Himalayas, Mongolia, the Pacific Islands, the Arctic and both the Sinai and Sahara deserts. Prior to this Steve was an Australian soldier who deployed to Timor & Iraq. Steve is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Fellow candidate for the Wilderness Medical Society. He holds a Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership, a Bachelor of Paramedic Practice, Diploma of Journalism, and is completing a Master of Public Health (Remote and Polar Medicine).
Todd Wehr ASM
Todd is the Director of the Queensland Ambulance Staff Support Services, known as “Priority One”. He has spent 25 years working within first responder agencies, with the last 20 years as a Paramedic. His lived experience as a Paramedic combined with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master’s Degree in counselling has culminated in a passion for staff support within first responder organisations. Todd is also a sessional lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology where he has presented on a range of topics including trauma and resilience, stress, suicide, and disaster management. He is also a regular speaker at conferences and has spoken nationally and internationally. In 2016 he received the National Ambulance Service Medal (ASM) for his work in supporting ambulance personnel and their families.
Dave Healy
Dave Healy is a senior Queensland Police Service Officer who has been apart of the SERT Unit since 2006 as well as currently being a SERT medic and Medical Portfolio Manager.
Ben Davoren
Ben Davoren spent 10 years in the military serving as a Combat First Aider (CFA) before becoming a Medic in the Australian Army. He has seen operational experience in the Solomon Islands, Iraq, Timor and Afghanistan.
Dr Steve Rashford
Steve Rashford is a specialist emergency physician and medical director for the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). Steve has been involved in all aspects of prehospital care for over 25 years and during his tenure at the QAS he has oversighted a significant expansion of role and scope across the organisation. He has championed numerous novel therapies, many at the forefront of global prehospital care. Steve also has an Adjunct Professor appointment with the Queensland University of Technology.

Tom Kelsey - Master of Ceremonies
Advanced care paramedic with the Queensland Ambulance Service for the past 8 years with a previous history in the military with multiple deployments to active warzones. Currently a clinical support officer in the Brisbane metropolitan area with a passion for teaching and is completing his masters in intensive care paramedicine with the ambition to become a critical care paramedic in the near future.
Greg Gibson
Greg’s ambulance career spans 40 years with 30 years as a MICA Paramedic. He is currently a Group Manager with Ambulance Victoria and has also held positions with QAS as Co-ordinator of the ICP program and Ambulance Tasmania as Supervisor Tactical Operations. He has worked for QBE Insurance for over 25 years as a Flight paramedic doing international medical retrievals. He is also a Senior Medical Educator for the RACGP in their Clinical Emergency Management Program.
