About The Event

Aotearoa's leading paramedicine research event - AUT Paramedicine Research Day - is back in 2026.

Join us for a dynamic and inspiring day of discovery, discussion, and innovation at the AUT Paramedicine Research Day 2026. This annual event brings together researchers, clinicians, students, and industry partners to explore the latest evidence, share ground-breaking research, and spark new collaborations. We'll be bringing you presentations from both local and internationally renowned researchers.

Whether you're a seasoned academic, a frontline paramedic, or simply passionate about advancing emergency healthcare, this event offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Hear from leading researchers in paramedicine and related fields
  • Engage in thought-provoking discussions on current challenges and future directions
  • Network with peers and professionals across academia and clinical practice
  • Discover student-led projects and emerging voices in paramedicine research

Expect a full day of presentations, panels, and interactive sessions that showcase the depth and diversity of paramedicine research in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

Morning tea and lunch are provided in the subsidised ticket price.

Speakers

Dr Graham McClelland

With over 20 years in paramedicine and a strong focus on pragmatic mixed-methods research, Dr McClelland brings deep insight into prehospital care-particularly stroke and other time-critical emergencies.


Professor Stuart Dalziel

Stuart trained in paediatrics in NZ and the UK and leads global paediatric emergency research. He chairs PERN and has secured over $40 million in funding through HRC and NHMRC grants.


Associate Professor David Anderson

Former Auckland paramedic turned intensive care physician, Associate Professor Anderson has global experience in prehospital and retrieval medicine, trauma critical care, ECMO and bioethics.


Mr Paul Baker

An internationally trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Mr Baker leads burn care in Aotearoa and contributes extensively to research and education in burn injury management.
