Gifford Saravia

Gifford Saravia joined Acadian Ambulance Service in 1991. Having served as one of Acadian’s top paramedics, Gifford has been awarded several honors during his time as a paramedic. He was the valedictorian of his class (1994), finalist for paramedic of the year (2002 and 2004) and awarded the Acadian Ambulance Spirit award (2005). He was named Administrator of the Year in 2007 by the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians (LANREMT). Gifford has served as education coordinator for the National EMS Academy (NEMSA), director for NEMSA, and currently serves as the paramedic program manager for the NEMSA and paramedic department chair for South Louisiana Community College. Gifford is a 2010 graduate of the Moody Executive Institute at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He holds a Master of Arts in adult education from Northwestern State University, a Bachelor of Science in Unified Public Safety Administration from Northwestern State University, an Associate of Applied science paramedic from South Louisiana Community College, and an Associate degree in electronic technology from Southern Technical College.
