Out of hospital palliative panel

About The Event

Join us in person (at Flinders University City Campus) or online for a palliative care panel discussion.

Caring for palliative patients is both an honor and a challenge, particularly when delivering care outside hospital settings. While systems and services are in place to support these individuals through their terminal conditions, the role of paramedics in this realm is increasingly vital.

To provide insights into this evolving landscape, our Q&A Forum convenes a distinguished panel including Medical Head of the Northern Adelaide Palliative Service Dr David Holden, Palliative Care and Orthogeriatric Consultant Dr Chloe Furst, SA Ambulance's Dr Amy Keir, SA Ambulance's ECP Clinical Team Leader Andrew Noble, along with Extended Care Paramedic Mel Alexander.

Drawing from their extensive community care experience, they will discuss patient needs, the evolving role of paramedics, community team structures, available supports, hospice care, and pertinent medicolegal considerations.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions either face to face or via the livestream. If you wish to submit a question before hand, please email Mel Alexander by April 22nd.
