PACER takes action - redefining mental health care

About The Event

The Police, Ambulance, Clinician Early Response (PACER) is a dedicated specialist response for Acute Mental Health and Behavioural Emergencies in the Tasmanian community. PACER uses a multidisciplinary team-based approach to enable access to timely and appropriate mental health care with respect and compassion. In this presentation the PACER team will outline their guiding principles, crew dynamics, training and education and how their team can be activated through in-field referral. A number of case studies will also be discussed to provide examples of how the PACER team operates.

Jarath Cobcroft

Jarath Cobcroft has been a paramedic for 5 years and has been with Ambulance Tasmania for 16 months. Jarath has been working with PACER since it began in January 2022 and is passionate in delivering trauma informed care to patients with mental ill-health, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
