Fraser has been a career paramedic since 1994 with roles in comms, frontline urban and rural, clinical support and specialist areas such as community paramedicine, heli ops, HAZMAT and USAR.
Fraser currently works 0.5 as a Clinical Support Officer, and 0.5 as ECP clinical lead. Fraser is getting closer to completing a MPhil through AUT, looking at the impact of an electronic non-transport checklist on 7-day mortality of patients discharged at scene by paramedics in New Zealand.
Fraser lives in Otaki on the Kapiti Coast with his wife Lis (a nurse who has experience in palliative care and remote nursing) two teenage daughters, and a 5 year old huntaway/beardie cross who runs for fun. On Saturdays he plays soccer with a bunch of much better players and often spends the next six days recovering.
Fraser is 100% supportive of introducing the End of Life Choice Act in New Zealand at the upcoming Covid-delayed election.
